Lips like morphine…

Was turned on to this song by Kill Hannah tonight…first thought the second it came on was “OMG EMO!!11!!1!…/me runs screaming and clawing ears out.” I don’t do emo, if ya couldn’t guess. However, the song kinda gets a little better (read: heavier) as it goes on. If you watch RockStar: Supernova, it’s a song that totally makes me picture that Lukas dude. Then again, almost any song with sexual undertones (or overtones…) can win me over What it really needs though is a good remix, a’ la Korn’s Twisted Transistor remix.

So I haven’t blogged in like a week, which I expected would happen. I knew this weekend was going to be way too busy. Saturday we did another U2inSL concert. It seemed to go very smoothly. Here is a pic of Nyna Slate and I working the sound…yes DE-PRIMMED lol.

I’m not too proud, or ashamed, to de-prim for a good cause…hell, when I joined SL we had no prim hair, or if we did it was only Washu’s that I know of. No skins…I think Chip Midnight JUST started releasing them within a few weeks of my join date (which was 7/3/04). I imagine SL was a much easier place to rez back then…I believe there were only 15,000 accounts at the time. Now we have almost 600,000.

Anyway, my intention wasn’t to get all nostalgic on ya’s. But with these LARGE events it is soooo worth it to de-prim and enjoy 60-90 avies on a sim and still have like 10 fps.

Moving on…and trying to remember what else I did this weekend. Oh yeah! Immediately after U2inSL I had to scramble for a “costume change” so to speak and DJ at Klavy’s Backstage. Sunday, I had to get up semi-early and actually work in the morning because I was going on a yacht for a birthday party that afternoon. Man, nice freakin boat, shit ass weather LOL. But ya make the best of it and we had a great time out there for 4 hours on the Connecticut River. Came home and DJ’ed again for the grand re-opening of Herzog Svarog’s Devious Designs. Go check it out!! Some wild stuff there! Meantime I shot a new outfit for DoC Eldritch of DE Designs…watch for it early next week!

Then comes Monday…oh Happy Monday. Yeah, righttt. Work was a freakin nightmare, got out an hour late…so many sick/dying animals, not a very happy place to be these days. I kind of figured today/tonight would be as bad so scheduled my Schmooze event for 8:30 SL time…worked out good. I am so very sore. Not always an easy job restraining large, pissed off dogs. My main concern is not letting the doctors get bit while they do what they need to do, and sometimes that requires some very limber, acrobatic manuevers LOL And sometimes when you get more than just yourself restraining the animal in question, you wind up in some let’s just say “intimate” postions lmao. It’s always good for a laugh after all is said and done anyway

If I could save time in a bottle….

Yeah, Jim Croce tonight. I am not even listening to it…actually Ozzy’s “Demon Alcohol” was on my station at the time I opened this post to write. But tonight SL is REALLY screwy…no Friends list (which has been an off and on prob for a few weeks now) and IM’s are not working…if someone IM’ed me I seemed to get them, but if I tried to IM someone they weren’t going through at all. I know I am not the only one so I bet we all wake up to a shitload of “offlines” tomorrow once the system sends them through.

It was both a nightmare and a blessing. The frustration of not being able to contact the ones you needed, yet me and my sis Daph hooked up at our home sim, Nirvana, and had some precious, quality time together; something we don’t get often anymore with our work schedules and such…hence the title of this post. I haven’t been in the forums yet tonight, I don’t even know IF the forums are working, but I am now starting to see some people showing up as online/offline.

Speaking of Daph, she has now entered the “dreaded” blog-world, as has DoC. Thanks LL for forcing us to all become “bloggers” due to the forums being shut down LOL. Thankfully, for the fashion-minded, we have http://fashionplanet.worldofsl.com This is a nice centralized place for us to read about all our favorite designers…if you are an SL designer and have a blog for your new products (and if ya don’t, what are you waiting for? Come to the dark side!! LOL) then contact Tao Takashi to be added. Nobody seems to be able to find any info on his site about HOW to be added, so I am just “assuming” to IM him for now. And we all know what “assuming” gets us, but I can handle it LOL

So the SLCC 2006 is over. Nyna is back home, Freyja is back home…I am so freakin JEALOUS and ANGRY that I couldn’t come party too! Next year, so help me God…my tax refund will go towards the trip no matter where it is. I hated missing last year’s since it was in NYC and I am just in CT, but this year flying out in Cali it wasn’t even an option. And Bo was there…sigh…made a deal with him back in the fall of ‘05 I think it was that I was gonna drink him under the table out there. Ahh well…next year

“Fat” avie syndrome strikes again…

I blogged last night about being all excited that Fallingwater released a larger version of her “Old Boots.” Thankfully she has demos, which is absolutely wonderful…she is not only fabulous at everything she sets her mind out to create, but also a very kind and friendly person based on the few times I have had the pleasure of her company. So guess what? Even the “Wide-Leg” version is just a touch too small for my legs!! Ok what is going here? I am totally getting an avie complex! LOL Well, it’s not like any of us said “Hey Fally, can you make the wide-leg version to fit Queenie’s shape?” Anywhooo…as I said, its just slightly off and I am willing to modify my “leg muscle” the tiny tad that is needed. For the original version? No…would have been just way too much of a drastic change of my shape; but for the wide-leg version, sure!! Will modify and stick that shape in the folder with the boots, once I get back there and actually purchase them, which I WILL do.

I run into the same problems with Lo Jacob of LUXE’s clothes, which I absolutely ADORE. But she makes some gorgeous dresses with arm prims that when I try to stretch them to fit me, they just do NOT look right. Now I know some of you reading this and thinking “IM the designer!” I don’t…and I know I should. I just have this really weird thing about bothering anyone, although anyone I have ever bothered has been wonderful. I think I just understand nuttiness and chaos enough being who I am, little ol’ me, and I just don’t want to add another IM/order to a high-profile designer’s queue.

Since some of the other girls blog about female troubles, I am gonna jump on the bandwagon for a moment, even as tomboy-ish as I am, and just let everyone know that I am “out of order”! So if I have been bitchy or emotional this past week, or during the next few days, please don’t hold it against me That’s all…topic change…like now. Hey, maybe thats why the boots don’t fit me…water-weight?? lmao…ok seriously, topic change….

Hanging out The Basin tonight…never been here. DJ Cal Orr on the mic, and my metal buds Genie, Luna, Sly and his girl Chrys are here rockin’ out. I do NOT get out much at all in SL anymore. I used to be into the club scene but I don’t know shit anymore. I am glad I got the IM and decided to come by!

Speaking of DJ’s…I’d like to welcome Rush Foley to RockNGames Radio!! He will be crankin out some killer metal on Wed nights at 8PM SL time!! Very happy to have him as part of the RNG family!! What do I have to do…

…to get inside of you?? New Hoobastank song…was on at Metallia and Charvel’s show at RockNRaces as I opened this page to write. Kind of fitting…but anyway. LOL

First, I need to send big, wet, slobbery kisses to Fallingwater Cellardoor for releasing her boots in a size better fitted for “curvier” avies. I have been waiting for this!! I love my avie’s shape but ANYTHING I buy that has prims involved just does not fit…at all. I have been called “thick”, “curvy”, etc….I just think I am normal, what the hell? Anyway, I am totally hitting Shiny Things to grab them tomorrow!!

And lookie here!! I told ya something incredibly awesome was coming out from Shiryu Musashi of Musashi-Do!! A beautifully done and very slinky, sexy, seamless swimsuit with 10 color options, plus 2 daring sheer versions in black and white…Click pic for larger view!! So I made my debut at Backstage tonight…hugs ‘n love to Klavy and CoCo for welcoming me, Darm and Sly from RockNGames Radio as DJ’s! I had a blast of course, even with non-related IM’s making me go a little cross-eyed LOL Ever hear of the expression of putting your “game face” on? Well, that’s me before a radio show. I am actually the same way with fashion shows too. I like to be focused on the task at-hand…and it’s those moments when I can get a bit “short” with people. Thankfully, they tend to understand, forgive and forget.

Someone, an infamous “griefer/harrasser” showed up where I was tonight. He has harrassed me and my friends off and on for the past 2 years. I do NOT understand why he has not been perma-banned yet. I, and many others, have sent AR after AR…but we all know how well that works :-/ This is an individual who truly appears to be sick in the head…I know people who have known him from other VW’s even before Second Life and they still cringe at the mention of his name. He doesn’t bomb or shoot anyone, that I know of anyway, but he harrasses incessantly. One night because I chose to be an adult and just ignore him, he added a phrase to his main profile page calling me a “drama queen” lmfao WTF??? How am I a drama queen if I chose to ignore his existence? Bah…kids!! His next move was to repeatedly send Offlines to my partner bad-mouthing me. Could I just mute him and be done? Sure…but when he turns around and puts shit in his profile about me, thats just fucked up….it WAS AR’ed and disappeared so maybe it worked, I dunno….that was many months ago, so let’s see if he pulls the same stupid shit this time, or maybe I’ll get lucky and he has taken his meds today. Anyway, I don’t have time for bullshit like that, but I still experience the equivalent of an avie panic attack of sorts whenever I see this person.

But Q will be Q, and that means I am not ending my night here on a sad note *smiles* I have so much planning to start on with the RockNGames Radio 2-year Anniversary….yes, let me say it again, 2 years!!! If any content creators read this, and you would like to contribute item(s) for our all-day event which is tentatively slated for Sat. Sept. 16th, PLEASE let me know! You will receive mention on-air, event postings, and in all forms of print advertisement. Last year’s first anniversary was amazing successful, so I am anticipating this year will be even better! Hint: we are working on a live band

I am sooo tired…SO TIRED!!!

I don’t know what’s up with me tonight, other than work was utter chaos today. And I have been staying up way too late. The problem is that during “normal” hours, I always have obligations in SL…so when it gets late, it gets quiet, and I get things done. And I love getting things done and don’t want to sleep. Not I can’t sleep; quite the contrary actually. I absolutely LOVE to sleep LOL. It’s just my “Peter Pan Syndrome” kicking in…every freakin night…don’t wanna grow up, don’t wanna miss anything.

So DoC Eldritch of DE Designs has some tricks hiding up his sleeve, of course! With Renaissance Faire season upon us, he had created a men’s outfit that was quite fitting, and hence I begged for a ladies matching version, and he happily obliged. The only catch? Could I morph myself into a Fair Maiden from my usual Iron Maiden style? LOL I did my best….you will just have to wait and see for yourselves HUZZAH!!!

Speaking of Ren Faire’s, we have our usual real life trip to one coming up on Labor Day. I cannot wait!! It’s one of my favorite yearly events. I have a strange feeling I blogged about this already but am too lazy to look back, so I’ll just shut up for now so I am not repeating myself LOL But yeah, I am looking forward to it very much so. Ya know, this summer started off with a bang. We were busy in rl every weekend with something…then I don’t know what happened but it all came to a halt. I have been super busy in SL again though. Don’t get me wrong, I love it! But I don’t want to get into a rut again. Sometimes, for some quick flashing moments, I REALLY miss World of Warcraft. But my work schedule just doesn’t allow for it…I mean really, when am I going to play? Certainly not before work, and by the time I get home from work my SL stuff is in full-swing. *sighs* Someday again. Poor “Grima” LOL…she finally got her mount, hit level 48 and was shelved. Although, with the expansion coming, I think this December last I heard (correct me someone if I am wrong, please?), I may jump back into it again. That seems to be the time of year I bundle up, batten down the hatches, and turn into a hermit/WoW addict…at least for the past 2 years. We shall see…I haven’t been keeping up much with the world of MMORPG’s and desperately waiting for Lord of the Rings Online (formerly known as Middle Earth Online).

Tonight, Backstage opened in SL…they seemed to have a pretty kick-ass crowd consistently. Darm (aka DJ WildHorse) from our RockNGames station had an appearance tonight, as he will every Thursday. Tomorrow, RNG’s Sly Vindaloo will be there rockin the house at 10PM SL time…and yours truly will be there Saturday night at 7PM SL time. RockNGames Radio representin’!!! \m/

*sighs* Enough for tonight…I should stop talking to people while I try to blog…what should take a few minutes turns into 2-3 hours LOL

New Evanescence tune so kicks ass! It’s BRILLIANT!! “Call Me When You’re Sober”, you can see the video here. If you haven’t heard it, I will be surely playing it at my next gig, which is Saturday night 7PM SL (Pacific)/10PM Eastern during the grand opening weekend of Backstage in Second Life. The lyrics remind me so much of an old SL relationship…not that it’s something I want to be reminded of, but wow. Especially the last lines:

Anyway, I digress. Grabbed one of the Crushed skins that Ginny and Lo collaborated on. I decided on the Caramel tone, Earthy Wheat. I wanted a makeup that was a bit different and more subdued from my regulars. I think Caramel was the wrong skin tone, but thats my own fault LOL. Would certainly be buying a few of these, such a wide array of make-ups, if my $L wasn;t hurting sooo badly. Sure, there’s Lindex, but I am currently cut-off as I wait for my workman’s comp stuff to get processed from a couple week’s ago.

I am thinking of putting together a graphic novel of sorts, featuring me and my alt called “Quest for the Imperial Jade”. I took some shots last night as a start, but it’s easier said than done to be logged into 2 accounts at same time on same PC, trying not to lag my system too much, posing both perfectly, etc. LOL I might have to recruit someone to help, I know I mentioned it to my sis, Daph, last month…or would that be against TOS? Anyway, it’s something that will take time, and will let ya know here if it does take shape.

Raven Pennyfeather of Rfyre Designs showed me a brand new outfit tonight called Patent Leather Princess that is divine! Comes with an flexi-prim skirt, pants option, plus prim arm cuffs and a prim collar that exudes royalty. I am not sure if she has released it yet, but check her picks for locations, including Rfyre Isle!

And to get a little “naughty” for a moment…have you guys seen the cum wardrobe (*blushes*) that Shiryu Mushashi’s “evil twin” has created? LOL It’s called Dripping Dreams and is available on Fairytale Island. No, you WON’T be seeing me out on the town in this hehe, but it is a must-have for escorts and anyone who enjoys sex in SL. VERY well-done, realistic and innovative. Bravo Shiryu, BRAVO!!

Keep an eye out for less-naughty, but another beautifully-done creation to come from Shiryu at Musashi-Do tomorrow!

Meanwhile in San Francisco, the 2nd SLCC meet-up is going on. Please drop by the in-world group of sims that have been set-up, search for Abundance on your map and start from there Yes, I am a major n00b and that the easiest way for me to tell you how LOL

Well, it’s 4AM now and I have scored myself a daily pet-sitting job on my way to work, which means I have to wake up a whopping half-hour before I normally do… *hears world’s smallest violins playing*. Update on Kin Keiko

So apparently LL has agreed to pay her the money she has earned, as to whether or not her account will be reinstated still remains to be seen. Meantime, Neil and Neph have shut down the Nakama sim (where one of Kin’s stores was located) for a day as a “moment of silence.” Of course people had mixed reactions to this move and claimed it was only hurting the rest of us. I disagree. As much time as I spend on Nakama (mainly on my alt), they are making a statement. When you disapprove of something so strongly you go to all lengths to get your point across, you do not roll over and play dead (as Cristiano pointed out). Those of us who have been around in SL for awhile know that whining and moaning isn’t going to get us jackshit, so you kick it up a notch, take it beyond the forums and bring it to the next level. Still doesn’t mean we are going to get anywhere since LL has consistently remained silent on such controversial issues, but we are at the very least bringing AWARENESS to what is going on since there are still many residents of SL who do not bother to read the forums. Some people see this as mob mentality, immaturity, over-reacting, etc. Some are wondering if there would be such an uproar if it was a non-content creator. My reply and I am NOT a content -creator btw:

I expected and understand this question…I think the point is that there should be a clear difference between someone who is a respected content creator and contributor as opposed to a typical jackass “griefer” who just returns as alt after alt.

What Kin was creating certainly wasn’t some half-assed way to make a quick buck. If you have seen her hair you will know that a lot of time and effort has been put into her creations.

Face the facts…your everyday griefer is NOT going to put time and effort into anything but being a an asshat. And yes, there are exceptions to every rule, to play devil’s advocate for a moment, but chances are that even IF Kin was the same person as this “banned brother from 2004″, it’s been 2 years…check her record, people can grow up a lot in 2 years. If it was an automated ban due to the account info, ok, then LL needs to correct it (I still have further to read due to rl job, so hope my post doesn’t seem too redundant or irrelevent.)

I try not to post in the forums for the most part (although I am a daily reader/lurker), unless its a “fun” thread, or an issue I feel VERY strongly about. I am normally as non-confrontational as they come, but when I see such ludicrous acts occuring I am going to speak up. And ya know what? As much as I try to be non-confrontational in the forums and in-world, this is MY blog and I am going to speak MY mind….one person tried to equate hostility with unintelligence. Sooo does that mean that anyone with a brain is never allowed to express their conflict or opposition on a matter? Excuse you, but I was on the Dean’s List in college. Do I say and do on-the-spot irrational things at times or make mistakes? Sure, I am human! Do I over-react when I am passionate about something? Yep! That makes me stupid??? Step out of your sheltered little life and wake the fuck up. I was not going to reply to you in the forums, because once again, after 2 years of EXPERIENCE, I was not going to be the cause of having this very important thread derailed and locked over a pissing match with you. Welcome to SL, honey…now shut up and enjoy the ride.

And now for something completely different!! Some brief fashion news…DoC has released a new outfit called VooDoo that is just too freakin hot for words! And its very, VERY sexy seeing 2 other fantabulous SL designers, Rebel Hope and paeoti Pomeray modeling this creation…cheers, ladies!! He says he is “experimenting with some new graphics software”…experimenting??? Come on now DoC, you have out-done yourself yet again. Please sir, can I have some more??

Ginny & Lo’s “Crushed” skins are being held back til next week, sadly. I was saving my $L to check these babies out…omg wait!! I just checked the DAZZLE blog and these two came through and got them out!! Now there are a lot of skins that just don’t work on my face shape, and that is in no way a blow to any skin designers, it’s just the way it is. FOURTY-FOUR make-ups, you guys! My ass is popping on over there and then omg I have to go to beddddd!!! Pet-sitting consultation and doctor’s appointment as final follow-up on my infected cat-bite from work (I never told you people here about that, or did I? LOL)…and then…work LOL. And thennnn….I think I am at Schmooze on Pixel Dreams tomorrow night….come ROCK with us at 8PM SL time!!!
