If ya don’t have anything nice to say then for what fuckin motivation, reason, reward or whatever would you run your mouth off for like this? My first guess would be for attention, but if you are anonymous, why bother? WHAT are you gaining?? You are anonymous, you can’t even share your self-satisfying attention with anyone. Man, some people really just don’t have anything better to do. Shall I list all the things I would set out to accomplish if I had that kind of time on my hands?? I can guarantee you it wouldn’t include being an anonymous attention-whore blogger ripping on Second Life’s content creators. And I truly believe that each and every person who has ever set out to create something in SL, providing NO theft was involved, deserves credit. Ya know, there might actually be even more incredible content creators out there that are holding back because of people like YOU, Miss Anonymous O’ the Week, and that’s a sin.

Sure, I blog my designer friends. And I also blog designers who I have never spoken a word to in my life. I am not a “fashion blogger”, but when I see something I like whether I know the designer or not I DO add it here.

I wasn’t even going to link it…I was going to say my piece without bringing more attention to the link, like I did with last week’s fashion drama, but then I figured probably anyone who reads my blog already knows about it, or would have known about it soon enough, so fuck it.

I agree with others who have said, “If ya don’t like something, move on.” Why try to make people feel like crap? This is why I keep people at arm’s length, RL and SL…I have NO use for people like this and no desire to be around them or associated with them in any way. And to those designer’s who have been unfairly bashed already, I know it’s easier said than done, but remember that there is no such thing as bad publicity…people will out of curiosity decide and visit for themselves. I have 2 formal events to attend this weekend, which is rare for me…guess where I am going to buy at least one of the dresses I need, if not both? http://rebelhopedesigns.blogspot.com/

So tonight, I give you a small run-down…

First up, we have a new one by DoC Eldritch of DE Designs called “Morphine”…modeled beautifully by my sis Daphne, in the ad here. and inspired by Kill Hanna’s “Lips Like Morphine” tune. Below, I am wearing Lost Thereian’s brand new ‘Alina” skin in Blackberry which can be purchased at the brand spankin’ new Naughty island, and let me tell you, this is the most realistic and gorgeous mall lay-out I have ever laid eyes on in SL. The hair is the September limited edition from Six Kennedy’s Gurl 6. I do adore this outfit and the detail…this picture does NOT do it justice since I took it at night (what was I thinking?? OK I was thinking about creeping around a dark club hunting prey hehe).

 

Next, I am pleased to show you the release of one of Alaska’s new Skin 2.0 make-ups which I have been waiting for! This is called “Smoke”, and she has done a marvelous job! Now if I can just get her to build off of this eye make-up and add some darker lipsticks with it! Pink typically makes me break out in hives, but this is VERY well done, nice glossy lips, but a deep-red would be DIVINE, and check out the tastefully sexy cleavage! (Wearing Kin Keiko’s “Pur” hair and Sol Columbia of Luminosity’s new Metro outfit, minus the jacket)

 

Speaking of Sol Columbia, she seems to be a fashion force quickly on the rise!! I have been admiring her stuff via other blogs and tonight I made my first trip there. Let me tell you, I had to keep glancing at my $L balance and fighting the urge. But I managed to pick up the popular prim-pocket camo pants which I honestly did not even have time to try on yet tonight! And yes, even though you can get them in a package with tops, you can also buy the pants seperately, like I did. I have a million awesome tops that will go great with them. Here, however is her very sexy, yet very tasteful “Metro” suit. It comes with top (as seen in above pic), jacket, mini-skirt with prim and stockings. The detail is very hard to show via pics, I suggest you ladies grab this one for your collection and check it out for yourselves in it’s full glory! I am not a huge fan of skirts to begin with; particularly SL mesh skirts, and also skirts like this where there is a prim between your legs, BUT I have to admit that this one is very, VERY well-done, probably because even though it is a mini-skirt, it’s not a super-short one. Take a gander…

Last for tonight is a mash-up collage I did featuring Canimal Zephyr’s “Office Affairs” in black on black, but available in a wide array of color choices; lingerie (shoot me now, am not logged in and can’t remember the name of the outfit) from Janie Marlowe of Mischief, and a short and sexy hair-style I happened upon at Sherona Degroot’s store (again, not in-world to give the name…sighs), and once again wearing Lost’s new Alina skin.

I always feel like I am abandoning my SL friends & family when I do it, but should I really think of myself as being THAT important?? SL will go on, the radio station will go on, the events will go on….life will go on. It always does, and I always come back. I don’t ever disappear completely from SL for WoW. And is it really any different than me showing up at events and going afk? I HATE being afk. I want to BE there. I want to not miss a line of chat, not miss a greeting or a goodnight wish, not make people wait in IM’s. I am afk-ish a lot, because I work til 10PM, walk in the door and literally I immediately up load SL cause there is someplace I have to be, and yes want to be, every single night. My head is just not always “there.”

Unrelated to to my talk of returning to WoW, but still very disheartening, is some of the major, and I mean MAJOR, issues that have happened in SL this week. Ya know, I knew that closing the forums and forcing everyone to blog was going to have a negative effect, and boy has it ever….not saying this wouldn’t have happened anyway, but maybe to a lesser degree. I am not even going to name the names here because I am not bringing this up for blog traffic, and I won’t take sides on the subject because I am NOT a content creator of any sort in SL so it’s hard for me to put myself in the shoes of all the parties involved and give an honest opinion. I am a consumer; a comsumer who knows that all of the designers involved ARE very talented at what they do, and regardless of what has happened that if ANY of them create a product that I like and I want to have, I will be buying. No boycotting, no taking sides, no shit-talking. I don’t do a whole hell of a lot of shopping anymore anyways, but that’s not the point. What happened is very upsetting and it’s like slowing down to look at a horrible car accident, even though I do not personally “know” anyone involved beyond having bumped into them at events and such. I truly think that most, if not all, of the people involved are having regrets about how public this became.

Moving on, the other train-wreck this week and I WILL post links and name-names (shame, shame LL). A serious and SCARY exploit was brought to the SL community’s attention. Read about it here at the Official LL blahhggg. They were “smart” enough to turn off comments for this one. My radio station’s website also got hacked this week too and apparently the fuckers managed to destroy 10+ webservers in the process. The internet seems to be becoming more and more unsafe as time goes on, when it should be the opposite. If teh SL/LL l33t h4xx0rz are reading this…take my account info, ya ain’t gonna get very far LOL…as a matter of fact, enjoy a pizza on me for your effort cause that’s about all you’re gonna be able to afford off of that card.

Enough bad stuff…it’s been like freakin doomsday, for 3 days now…can it end, like now please? Giggly tonight?? Yeah, I am. T.G.I.T.!! That’s right, I am now off on Fridays and Saturdays so a big screw you to the TGIF people *sticks tongue out* TGIFuckinT is where it’s at!!! My weekend comes earlier and I go back to work at 4PM on Sundays…so THERE. Ok, ok…working Sundays sucks the big one, but at least it’s only a 5 hour shift AND I get to sleep in before. The lllooonngggeeesssttt 5 hours you can imagine though lmao. I need someone to talk to while I am there all alone. I got my Bluetooth, so I can work while I talk LOL…I dare ya, who wants to call Queenie and listen to her do nothing but giggle because she’s so freakin shy??!! And I AM, just ask Daph!!

In SL: lots of goodies to talk about!! And this will be photo-intensive cause I am an egotistical wench…and well, cause I got lotsa catching up to do

• DoC Eldritch of DE Designs released this KILLER set for both the ladies and men loosley based on the Von Helsing movie. Oddly enough, this is the most recent movie I have watched and that was back in April so I was pretty excited about this. Yes, I live in a cave and that cave is called Second Life Anyway I absolutely LOVE this damn outfit…sexy and sophisticated. It’s one of those outfits I swear I am never taking off, and I did and WILL wear it for many days and nights to come. I’ll be honest, I was hot for wanting to do the whole Kate Beckinsale long, brown, flowing hair but DoC talked me into wearing Tami McCoy’s “Reckless” short, flexi-do and it’s really starting to grow on me

• Also released recently at DE is “Shawna”, which comes in black and color-washed. More deliciously sexy clubwear done tastefully (dunno why this one won’t thumbnail…omg n00b)…

• Next up! Alaska Metropolitan of OPIUM has been revamping some of her vendors and I was honored to help model for her. I was genuinely impressed with the end result, which you can catch a glimpse of below. She has also recently released SKIN 2.0 and has been adding new makeups. Check out a preview of “Smoke” which is maybe a week away from release still. Alaska has a diverse collection of clothes, skins and eyes available; as well as being a fabulous photographer. She took pics of me well over a year ago that still look fresh and exciting to this day. I URGE you to check out OPIUM, bookmark her blog, and keep an eye out for more. (And yet again, here is me in Tami McCoy’s “Reckless” hair *smiles*)

• Lastly, but certainly not least..I was tipped off last night by a fellow ASpiRE! Model, Aunnia Wilberg, about this incredible outfit called “Legacy” from Solange Cerveau of Silk Raven. It’s 925L but WELL worth it for all the options included, and available in such a wide-range of colors that it was hard to choose. I went with the “black/silver” just due to the easy mixing and matching and event-versatility that such neutral colors provide. She also offers matching boots, however being the starving DJ that I am there are moments when I have to know when to say “when”…and typically those moments come into play when shoes are involved LOL. The hat, which I am LOVING, is from Sahara Tyne of “Nein!” I am not sure if either of these talented ladies have blogs or websites but please check them both out via SL’s “FIND”…errr, I mean “SEARCH”.

So I haven’t blogged in like a week, which I expected would happen. I knew this weekend was going to be way too busy. Saturday we did another U2inSL concert. It seemed to go very smoothly. Here is a pic of Nyna Slate and I working the sound…yes DE-PRIMMED lol.

I’m not too proud, or ashamed, to de-prim for a good cause…hell, when I joined SL we had no prim hair, or if we did it was only Washu’s that I know of. No skins…I think Chip Midnight JUST started releasing them within a few weeks of my join date (which was 7/3/04). I imagine SL was a much easier place to rez back then…I believe there were only 15,000 accounts at the time. Now we have almost 600,000.

Anyway, my intention wasn’t to get all nostalgic on ya’s. But with these LARGE events it is soooo worth it to de-prim and enjoy 60-90 avies on a sim and still have like 10 fps.

Moving on…and trying to remember what else I did this weekend. Oh yeah! Immediately after U2inSL I had to scramble for a “costume change” so to speak and DJ at Klavy’s Backstage. Sunday, I had to get up semi-early and actually work in the morning because I was going on a yacht for a birthday party that afternoon. Man, nice freakin boat, shit ass weather LOL. But ya make the best of it and we had a great time out there for 4 hours on the Connecticut River. Came home and DJ’ed again for the grand re-opening of Herzog Svarog’s Devious Designs. Go check it out!! Some wild stuff there! Meantime I shot a new outfit for DoC Eldritch of DE Designs…watch for it early next week!

Then comes Monday…oh Happy Monday. Yeah, righttt. Work was a freakin nightmare, got out an hour late…so many sick/dying animals, not a very happy place to be these days. I kind of figured today/tonight would be as bad so scheduled my Schmooze event for 8:30 SL time…worked out good. I am so very sore. Not always an easy job restraining large, pissed off dogs. My main concern is not letting the doctors get bit while they do what they need to do, and sometimes that requires some very limber, acrobatic manuevers LOL And sometimes when you get more than just yourself restraining the animal in question, you wind up in some let’s just say “intimate” postions lmao. It’s always good for a laugh after all is said and done anyway

• and I want to keep going..ohhhh Tya Fallingbridge, has opened a men’s store (still under construction, so I hope it’s ok that I mention it here) called “JUST Him.” Go check it out on the Pixel Dreams sim..some clothes are up, including swimming trunks and shirts for the casual yet professional male, as well as some really gorgeous watches.

It was both a nightmare and a blessing. The frustration of not being able to contact the ones you needed, yet me and my sis Daph hooked up at our home sim, Nirvana, and had some precious, quality time together; something we don’t get often anymore with our work schedules and such…hence the title of this post. I haven’t been in the forums yet tonight, I don’t even know IF the forums are working, but I am now starting to see some people showing up as online/offline.

Here’s me and Daph praying like good girls for a decent update tomorrow LOL

Speaking of Daph, she has now entered the “dreaded” blog-world, as has DoC. Thanks LL for forcing us to all become “bloggers” due to the forums being shut down LOL. Thankfully, for the fashion-minded, we have http://fashionplanet.worldofsl.com This is a nice centralized place for us to read about all our favorite designers…if you are an SL designer and have a blog for your new products (and if ya don’t, what are you waiting for? Come to the dark side!! LOL) then contact Tao Takashi to be added. Nobody seems to be able to find any info on his site about HOW to be added, so I am just “assuming” to IM him for now. And we all know what “assuming” gets us, but I can handle it LOL

So the SLCC 2006 is over. Nyna is back home, Freyja is back home…I am so freakin JEALOUS and ANGRY that I couldn’t come party too! Next year, so help me God…my tax refund will go towards the trip no matter where it is. I hated missing last year’s since it was in NYC and I am just in CT, but this year flying out in Cali it wasn’t even an option. And Bo was there…sigh…made a deal with him back in the fall of ’05 I think it was that I was gonna drink him under the table out there. Ahh well…next year
